Supergirl is a fictional superheroine appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Supergirl was created to be a female counterpart to DC's popular hero Superman. The character was created by writer Otto Binder and designed by artist Al Plastino in 1959.
CBS pulled the lid off some new footage from next month's "Supergirl " premiere, revealing a whole bunch of never-before-seen footage from the series that features a whole lotta action! Actress Melissa Benoist stars as Kara Zor-El, aka the titular DC Comics superhero and cousin of Kal-El, aka Superman; and the footage reveals some of the dire situations that Supergirl faces, like robbers and ray gun-wielding bad guys.
